The software for the stall speed diagnostics has been altered from 00MY to prevent these codes from being recorded in error. The code appears in the morning immediately after start up but without engaging drive as mentioned above. When road testing it seems like the transmission isnt shifting when it should and the torque converter is locking up way before it should, this is the loss of power. The Mitchel OnDemand seems to think that this code is always accompanied by other codes because it says to fix those and this one will go away but this is the only code that is logged. Can any of the pros offer some help Or maybe just condolences. NOTE: TestBookT4 displays the part numbers before fault codes are accessed. Old level software: Series II UHC100240UHC100360 Old level software: Range Rover UHC100220 New level software: Series II UHC000010 or UHC00080 New level software: Range Rover UHC100340 CAUTION: Series II transmission ECUs can be plugged in without any further work required. Range Rover transmission ECUs need to have the tune selected (4.0 or 4.6) using TestBook. You could still have the older ECU regardless of build date. That TSB also says to verify that all three fault codes are present before checking the software. I am using a Snap-On scan tool in generic OBD II mode, is it possible that its not seeing these codes. If your reader can get a P1XX code, it can surely get a p0XX code. Good eye. I didnt catch that about the other codes. This vehicle previously had codes p0172, p0175, and the 3rd gear out of ratio or what ever it is. I went to check that rubber cap on the upper plenum but that port on mine is being used by the SAI I think. So then I bought a new MAF form Atlantic British MAFS, its just the sensor not the assembly. When it got here and I opened the box there was my new sensor in a green Lucas box, hmmmm. So I pop that in clear the codes and all is well for the entire day. Then the next morning on start up the MIL comes on and when I pulled the code at noon I got p1884 only. Thats when I started looking into what could cause this and I find that it could be a bunch of different things. So to see what would happen I put the old MAF back in and the truck wouldnt even run.
